Resilience: The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
First and foremost, to those who’s businesses could not survive. To those who lost their jobs. To those who lost a loved one. To those who are fighting to stay afloat. Our hearts go out to you. Truly.
To say the past 2 years were challenging, would be a monstrous understatement. It’s safe to say we have all built up some serious resiliency through this pandemic. This was something no one could prepare for. No one expected. Everyone was affected and everyone is dealing with it differently.
We have been fortunate and very lucky to be able to continue our business, but that’s not to say it has been easy, and that’s not to say there aren’t some major changes coming down the pipeline for Barn Burner Hockey. We have been stuck in a bit of a rut. With no hockey, no demand and a business still in startup mode, we have suffered both as a business and mentally as people. Like all of you, we have had to deal with some tough times and tough decisions. Running a business that we love passionately made this a really tough time. A dream crusher to say the least. But, as hockey players we know there is no such thing as quitting. No such thing as not giving it your best. Just like coming out for the 3rd period of a big game down a goal or 2. It aint over, so keep your head up and keep going. You win like a champion and you lose like a champion, but you always learn. That’s the beauty of it. We are coming out of this better. Stronger, hopeful and more resilient.
What does that mean for Barn Burner Hockey?
We are changing our product line up. We are enhancing our logo. We are planning on coming back a better and stronger brand this coming season. As we see some normalcy returning, we are hopeful that the men, women, kids, coaches and fans can all get back to the rink like we used to. Of course, everything will be different. The normal will be new. But one thing is for certain, we will welcome that smell of a fresh sheet of ice. The stale, but familiar dressing room smell and that fresh scent of Filthy Mitts gracefully touching our nostrils. We know we can all agree that there is nothing but excitement and anticipation in getting back on the ice.
From us, you can expect the same passion, love for the game and 1 to 1 customer service connection, along with our premium all natural hockey products. The other thing you can expect to see from us is a new focus on apparel. We feel like representing the code, resilience and most importantly, our community can only be expressed through some very creative approaches to apparel pieces and different garments. Of course, we will continue our mission of giving back through our various initiatives that support youth hockey.
So to our friends, thank you for sticking with us. We hope you are staying healthy. Staying strong. And staying resilient.
